CADCA is proposing to offer a customized Opioid Coalition Academy (OCA) for the State of Arkansas that will help coalition participants learn what they need t o know (the core competencies) and what their team needs t o do (the essential processes). This critical training will help them: (1) establish and maintain highly effective substance misuse prevention coalitions and (2) learn a community change model that will assist coalition leaders t o put in place strategies that will directly impact the issues of opioids and their related consequences in their communities. In addition, an important customized component of this training will be preparing the Opioid Coalition Academy participants to understand what they will need to have in place to be able to successfully apply for the Drug Free Communities program: a federal application usually issued in January o r February.
