Project Complete: ARORP22-008 UA Little Rock MidSOUTH Arkansas Drug Take Back

The ARORP-Take Back project will support efforts to discourage or prevent misuse of opioids through evidence-based or evidence-informed programs or strategies that may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Funding media campaigns around the Drug Take Back program to prevent opioid misuse. 2. Corrective advertising or affirmative public Drug Take Back education campaigns based on evidence. 3. Public education relating to drug disposal. 4. Drug take-back disposal or destruction programs. These funds will also be used to develop and provide education and training materials network of local organizations, cities and counties working to abate the loss families and individuals have experienced due to opioid addiction.

UA Little Rock withdrew from the second year of this two year project (1/1/23-1/1/25) on 11/29/23. Though allotted $500,000 for two years, UA Little Rock forfeited $250,000 budgeted for Year 2 by withdrawing from the project. The goals of this project will be continued and completed through ARORP23-226 as recommended by the ARORP Advisory Board.
