FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A new app is designed to help people or families dealing with opioid addiction.
“ReviveAR” was created by the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership.
Kirk Lane is the program’s director. He says the free app is a one stop shop that has resources on everything from Narcan administration, to family support and resources about addiction and prevention.
“We’re the second-highest opioid prescribing state in the nation. Here at home in Arkansas, there’s a real need for resources, treatment, recovery, prevention and understanding to defeat the stigma around opioid use disorder,” Lane said.
According to the app’s website, “ReviveAR” provides written and audio instructions to administer Narcan as well as the option to call 911 through the app.
Lane says that resources are still being added to the app.
He hopes everyone in the state will download it so they can be a hero for someone who needs it.
