NEA Divine Intervention receives start-up funding for a recovery community organization

Kirk Lane and Tenesha Barnes presents NEA Divine Interventions with a check for $250,000 funding their recovery center.

JONESBORO, AR (January 20, 2023) Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP) Director Kirk Lane and Deputy Director Tenesha Barnes presented NEA Divine Intervention with a check for $250,000 on Friday, January 20, to fund a new recovery community organization in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Mayor of Jonesboro, Harold Copenhaver, attended the ceremony and has been active in supporting NEA Divine Intervention through this process.

The funding represents start-up dollars to develop a Recovery Community Organization in Craighead County. The organization is peer-led, meaning that peers in recovery will provide services and support to those with an opioid and substance use disorder seeking recovery and quality of life resources.

This funding comes from opioid settlement dollars provided to the cities and counties of Arkansas. The Arkansas Association of Counties (AAC) and the Arkansas Municipal League (AML) partnered together make more effective change for the cities and counties in Arkansas, creating the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP) to ethically disperse opioid settlement funding across Arkansas.
