Lifesaving ReviveAR App Launches in Little Rock
ReviveAR to serve as a comprehensive prevention, treatment and recovery resource for Arkansas residents
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 21, 2024) — The Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership (ARORP) has released ReviveAR, an app designed to prevent and treat opioid abuse in Arkansas. It is now available for download on the Google and Apple app stores.
The ReviveAR app serves as a resource for community members, offering a variety of features. Users can learn how to identify a drug overdose and how to administer Naloxone. They can also access resources for overdose prevention, recovery and family support and locations across Arkansas for Drug Take Back disposals to safely dispose of unused or expired drugs.
“The number of drug overdose deaths are rising at a rapid rate in Arkansas, and opioid overdoses account for more than half of them,” said Kirk Lane, director for the Arkansas Opioid Recovery Partnership. “Our priority has always been the health and wellbeing of Arkansans, and this innovative solution marks a significant step forward in our efforts to combat the opioid crisis and save lives.”
The launch was announced yesterday during a press conference at the Arkansas Municipal League in Little Rock, Ark. Speakers included Lane; Mark Hayes, director for the Arkansas Municipal League; Kimberly Ashley Pauley, research compliance officer for the University of Central Arkansas; Marlene Battle, director of education for the Arkansas Pharmacy Association; and Dr. Stephanie Rose, director for the addiction studies program at the University of Central Arkansas.
45 people died from opioid-related overdose in Pulaski County in the first half of 2023 alone. Unless Arkansas fights back, that number will only increase in 2024. For more information about ARORP’s mission or how to navigate the ReviveAR app, visit ARORP.org.
