- Mainline Health Systems, Inc. (MHSI) will utilize a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to opioid abatement by integrating expanded Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) services with warm hand- off programs, staff training, and stigma reduction initiatives. MHSI will expand access by dedicating new clinical space and recruiting additional staff, including a community health worker that will function as a peer recovery specialist and an additional therapist, to support individualized care. The warm hand-off model connects patients directly from primary care settings to addiction treatment services through in-person transitions, significantly improving engagement and MHSI will dedicate spaces for immediate assessments and community health workers and case managers, whose support during transitions increases treatment initiation and reduces repeat overdoses. Staff will receive ongoing training to ensure compassionate, evidence-based care, which has been shown t o further improve patient outcomes. By integrating these strategies-expanding MOUD access, enhancing warm hand-offs, prioritizing staff education, and reducing stigma-MHSI will promote continuity of care, increase patient engagement, and decrease opioid-related morbidity and mortality. These interventions are supported by national best practices and proven research, ensuring that the proposed project addresses the opioid epidemic with measurable, sustainable impact.
